EMBRACING TECHNOLOGY TO BE A DIGITAL NOMAD
I used to laugh when my father would say, “Back in my day, we didn’t have (fill in the blank … air conditioning, easy long distance phone service, computers …)”. It was true, but he sounded like a fuddy duddy for not knowing about the most modern technology.
I have become my father.
My goal is to publish many recipe and cookbooks about Thailand. In part, I want to share what I learned. In part, I don’t want to forget what was the most intense time in my life. Living and operating a Thai food business in a foreign country using a foreign language was akin to being Ginger Rogers. Fred Astaire had it easy. He danced well, of course but his partner Ginger Rogers had to do it backwards and on heels.
To transfer all this impressive knowledge, knowledge the World Needs means I have to not only be about to describe Thai food, Thai recipes and Thai cooking, but write about it and get the books and all the other things I have planned in the hands of the eager public. It means knowing more about technology than I ever thought would be necessary.
My pledge to you, Dear Reader, is to learn more so I can share more. This is my solemn vow. For this reason I am spending a warm and sunny Sunday inside. I am taking an on-lime course on how to make your website shine and be able to be seen among the billions out there.
Will it be hard? Yes!
Will I flag in my dedication? No!
Will it be worth it? Yes.
NEW THAI COOKBOOK SERIES
My next series of Thai food cookbooks is going to be out in early August. I have written a five-book series on the basics of Thai cooking specifically for Western cooks making food in a Western kitchen. The goal is to demystify the experience and lay out the skills needed, how to choose the best Asian ingredients and then give ten excellent recipes in a certain type of food.
The first book is Thai Food: Thai Recipes for Chicken. You can see a photo of the dish I am going to feature on the book cover.
I’ll let you know when these books will be released on Amazon.
Now, back to learning about DNS and SEO and other acronyms…
